APsA’s membership has weathered profound upheavals, and many colleagues still feel the impact of fragmentation and loss of connection. Rebuilding trust and fostering belonging are essential to our future.
As chair of the Psychoanalysis in the Community Committee, housed within APsA’s Social Issues Department, I have supported committee members’ projects that demonstrate the innovative application of psychoanalytic principles beyond the traditional consulting room to address critical societal challenges, while also advancing my own community based initiatives, including the International Town Hall Project and a Ukraine pilot project for frontline responders. These experiences have shown me that organizations grow not only through numbers, but through inclusivity and mutual respect. As President, I will work to ensure that APsA becomes a home where all members feel valued, connected, and part of a shared future.
APsA thrives when every member feels at home.
